I am a certified educator, children’s book author, and passionate communicator with over 15 years of experience in teaching and language development. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in English from the University of Delaware, with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Fine Arts. Since earning my permanent teaching certification in Florida in 2013, I’ve been licensed in English (Grades 6–12), Fine Arts, and Library Media. I am currently pursuing additional state certification in English as a Second Language to better support multilingual learners.

Outside the classroom, I’m an avid traveler and travel writer, sharing global experiences on my blog, www.deenondeck.com. I speak three languages and am deeply passionate about helping others improve their communication skills—especially in preparing for college and navigating multicultural environments. I believe that one of the most powerful gifts we can give someone is the ability to be clearly understood in the world around them.

As the author of Seven Spirals: A Chakra Sutra for Kids, I’ve had the privilege of being published in three languages, and my work has been recognized with Germany’s 2010 Take One, Teach One Award.
