Hi, I’m Ginna Luck
Ms. Ginna’s fascination with cognitive brain development drives her to tailor instruction to students’ individual abilities. She designs her approaches to access these varying levels, ensuring success while also equally prioritizing a student’s enjoyment. She is an integral part of developing the Achievian Academy Curriculum, incorporating her knowledge of cognitive development while also including her love for gardening and the natural sciences, especially her passion for protecting native habitats and animals. She hopes to introduce young minds to nature and the natural world through hands-on, scientific experiments, readings, writing, and art.
Originally, she worked with young children in preschools and then began her college career in Early Childhood Development. She studied literature and creative writing, earning her BA degree in literature before earning a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing. She’s taught ESL in Japan, helping children learn and speak English. For the last ten years, she’s taught reading and writing classes to small groups, while developing the curriculum and selecting the challenging, yet engaging reading materials for grades pre-k through 5th, specifically dedicated to early readers. She is specialized in mentoring young students applying to elite private schools, in particular preparing them for the SSAT and the CoGat.
Along with her extensive background in education, she is an avid gardener, passionate about plant diversity, reforestation, and native environments. She is a painter and published poet. She brings these passions into her classroom.
