Hi, I’m Sarah Clayton

Ms. Sarah builds her early childhood teaching around a child’s curiosity. Through coursework that stimulates and harnesses that natural enthusiasm for the world around us, she implements frameworks to help young children think more analytically. She believes that developing habits that encourage critical thinking through fun and engaging activities builds a platform for success, particularly in the arena of academics.

Ms. Sarah has been teaching students basic literacy skills to young children for more than two decades. As an undergraduate, she studied both physics and journalism, working in Japan for a newspaper for about 7 years. She began her teaching career at a college in Palau, teaching English composition. She returned to the United States to earn a Ph.D. and teach at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Washington. She has also taught robotics for UW’s Robinson Center.
