Hi, Iām Tiah Schindelheim Rodriguez
Ms. Tiah believes that science has everything to do with English. She has used her love for science and systems to help students unlock the power of language. She brings this scientific lens into her reading and writing courses where she encourages students to unravel the mathematics of word roots and the logic behind sensory language, sentences, and story construction.
In her 20 years tutoring and teaching grades 5-12, Ms. Tiah loves to help students unlock the mysteries of reading comprehension and expression in accelerated, standard, and ESL English coursework. In addition to her coursework, she builds forums to foster language analysis, critical thinking, and speaking skills necessary to instill confidence and mastery to help her students thrive in competitive academic environments. She delights in designing and teaching science experiments, artistic explorations, questioning strategies, fluid reasoning, and foundational readings in topics ranging from prisms to myths and alchemy.
Her favorite elementary books The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Fungus is Among Us! by Joy Keller, The Light Inside by Dan Misdea, Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, The Gashlycrumb Tinies by Edward Gorey, and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.
